Exhibition 2013
Reflection:
What are you most proud of?
I am really proud of the landscape project. I was so stressed throughout the entire project. So many times I felt like we were behind and weren’t sure it would turn out well at all. It came through so well. I am so pleased with it and proud of all that we did. I am really proud too of how my Chemistry arm turned out. It freaked people out so I know that it was realistic. I had so down points in the process of creating my anatomical “arm” but that too came out awesome. I was really proud of my group for the play in Humanities. I was nervous about it because my partners had trouble memorizing their large chunks of lines. I was really proud of my group member, Chenoa, because she is on the shyer side but got really dramatic and into the play. In the end, it came out very well and I was very pleased.
What went well?
I feel honestly that most everything went well, really. Like I said before everything for Art came out really well. I think that all the elements of Chemistry- mixing the paint, having guests paint, showing off our paintings- came together and came out very good. I feel like the play my group performed turned out great, I was told so by many people. From what I saw the math games came out very well too.
What would like to improve on for next exhibition?
I want to improve on stressing less about the projects and the whole night. Like I’ve said, it all came through and came out very good. I need to focus on my part and not freak out if others’ don’t do their part or it doesn’t come together exactly how it want it. I really just want to enjoy my Exhibitions and I definitely did enjoy this one.
Suppose you could redo this exhibition what would you do differently?
I feel that we could have improved on the Math section. I think we could change it so that its more interesting for our guests. They would either listen to us talk about our game or play it with us and the playing part took a long time. I think that we could have made it where the guests are apart of the Math Exhibition without playing the whole game. I also always wish that Exhibition could be longer. I wish that I could have spend more time in the Commons with our landscape project. I was really proud of it and there was a lot of work to show off.
Which habit(s) of heart or Mind do you feel you used while preparing for this year's All School Exhibition?
I would definitely say Self Advocacy. The qualities of this is accountable, prepared, perseveres, professional, welcomes challenges, high expectations, positive attitude, and self respect. I honestly feel that this fits who I am as a student. I had to persevere through a lot during Exhibition. One time was working on my painting for Chemistry. I had constructed a 3D to show the anatomy of an arm. I used many materials such as plaster, plaster strips and clay. It was very hard for the arm not to fall apart or crumble. That itself was very hard. Also the actual painting the arm was very difficult too to get it just right. I had very high expectations of myself that I wanted to achieve and I did achieve them, but I had to lower my expectations some. I also had to persevere with the Art landscape project and had high expectations of myself and others. That was a very difficult project because it was new and different and not every one in our group pulled their own weight. I kept pushing through to the end working as hard as I could. We had great results in the end that matched up to my expectations.
