College Knowledge Project
This project was an incredibly helpful and valuable to me. Through this project, we chose a college we were possibly interested in attending, a possible major we may pursue and why we chose that college based on different factors such as the major, activities offered, cost, location, atmosphere, size... etc. It gave us a good view of how to search for a college and all the things to think about. Looking back at this project, I see that I actually really don't want to go to the college I originally chose for this project, which was Biola University. I chose that college to research at the time, knowing it is a Christian College, which is essential for me, because I very much want to pursue youth ministry. Biola has a youth ministry major, which is a major reason why I chose research that school. It is really important to me that I go to a school that has a strong Christian atmosphere and a quality education to equip me with the tools I need for my career and future. I also would like to stay somewhat local in Southern California and Biola is in Orange County.
Interestingly enough, we have more recently done more college searches in school and I have come to the conclusion that I really don't want to go to Biola. I have been to Biola, and to Orange County itself many times. I really don't care much at all for the feel of Orange County or large cities. Biola is too much in the city for me and I would like a more rural and secluded setting. Biola is actually a pretty good size for a private Christian college at 6000 undergrads. I would actually prefer something a littler smaller. Instead, I have actually found some other colleges I am much more interested in such as Point Loma Nazarene University and Westmont College.
